Real-Time Tracking of Multiple Articulated Structures in Multiple Views 29 Articulated structures: This is really a special case of constrained multiple structures, except that there are usually more constraints. A hinged structure, for example has seven degrees of freedom (six for position in the world and one for the angle of the hinge). When the two components of the structure are independently tracked, there are five hinge constraints which apply to the system. Because these constraints exist in the world, it is highly desirable to impose them on the system of trackers.
